assistive tech: touch table
::prototype one::
Our touch table is coming together beautifully. The physical interface is up and running. It use infrared sensors to detect user touch and movement. A camera picks up the FTIR data and, using Community Core Vision, uses blob detection to keep track of each blob, or finger. The data is sent in TUIO format, then parsed and analyzed for use in gestures.

wildlife notes - 2/16/11
Post - class notes/ideas:
Just joined up with Anh and Lily to work on GPS and GIS mapping using Droid + processing + Bluetooth. Pumped.
GIS has some interesting ways of navigating/rendering spherical (or ellipsoidal) space a la 360 degree iPad app - featured in section two of scanned notes. Found out the world is ellipsoidal. Sweet.
Still super into Burrough history wiki idea that hit me right before falling asleep... GIS might somehow supplement??

The art of losing isn't hard to master; so many things seem filled with the intent to be lost that their loss is no disaster, Lose something every day. Accept the fluster of lost door keys, the hour badly spent. The art of losing isn't hard to master. Then practice losing farther, losing faster: places, and names, and where it was you meant to travel. None of these will bring disaster. I lost my mother's watch. And look! my last, or next-to-last, of three beloved houses went. The art of losing isn't hard to master. I lost two cities, lovely ones. And, vaster, some realms I owned, two rivers, a continent. I miss them, but it wasn't a disaster. -- Even losing you (the joking voice, a gesture I love) I shan't have lied.
